Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Visits Tokyo

Dec. 10 - Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, visited Tokyo Dec. 8-9. The Chairman met with top Japanese defense officials, including Defense Minister Kitazawa and Self-Defense Forces Chief of Staff General Oriki. He also held a press conference at the Embassy, where he commented that one of the purposes of his visit was "to reaffirm America's unbreakable bond with the people of Japan."
