U.S. Ambassador Congratulates Japan Women's World Cup Champion Team

On July 19, U.S. Ambassador John V. Roos met with Japanese "Nadeshiko" women's World Cup championship team members in Tokyo to personally congratulate them on their historic victory.

Ambassador Roos said, "As an avid sports fan, I was riveted by the World Cup final. Although I cheered hard for our U.S. team, in the end they could not overcome the determination of Nadeshiko Japan. It was a true honor today to meet and congratulate the Japanese women on a hard fought victory!"
