Lisa Guillermin Gable Appointed Commissioner General for the U.S. Pavillion at the 2005 Aichi Expo

Lisa Guillermin Gable has been named as U.S. Commissioner General of Section of the United States Exhibition to the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan. She will serve as head of U.S. participation in the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan and is responsible for oversight of the U.S. Pavilion and is the official U.S. Government representative to the Government of Japan on issues relating to the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan. She was sworn in on August 9, 2004.
The Government of Japan invited the United States to participate in the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan, and the U.S. government advised the Japanese government of its intention to participate. The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the Department of State is charged with developing a public-private partnership for the official U.S. participation in the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan.
On July 29, 2004, Patricia Harrison, Assistant Secretary for Educational and Cultural Affairs, signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Aichi USA 2005 World Exposition, Inc. Under the terms of the Memorandum, Aichi USA 2005, Inc. will raise all the funds necessary to create, build, install, manage and dismount the official U.S. Pavilion at the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan.
