Embassy Introduces U.S. Biotech Industry at "BioJapan 2004" exhibition

The Commercial Service of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo is organizing a USA Pavilion at the BioJapan 2004 show. One of the largest biotech events in Japan, this show will take place at the New Takanawa Prince Hotel in Shinagawa Sept. 28-30.

Thirteen U.S. companies/organizations, including state governments, biotech industry organizations, universities, research institutes and biotech companies, have signed up to exhibit in the USA Pavilion. U.S. biotech firms consider their Japanese counterparts to be important business partners and will be seeking to develop close business relationships with them through joint ventures, research collaborations and other forms of business alliance.

The Commercial Service of the U.S. Embassy is also hosting the following two events during BioJapan 2004:

Luncheon Session: "Biotech Partnering for the Future"

Date: Sept. 28 (Tue) 12:30-13:30
Place: Prince Room, B1 Floor, Takanawa Price Hotel
Program: USA Pavilion exhibitors will introduce themselves, and each exhibitor will talk about what type of partnership they are seeking with potential Japanese business partners.

Symposium: " U.S. Biotech Industry Update"

Date: Sept. 29 (Wed) 9:30-11:00
Place: Gyoukoh Room, 1st Floor, International Convention Center PAMIR, New Takanawa Prince Hotel
Program: Speakers from the Biotechnology Industry Organization, State of Ohio, State of Illinois and State of Missouri will discuss the most recent trends in the U.S. biotech industry.
