Leonard M. Rogers

Mr. Rogers was appointed to his current position in May 2001. His responsibilities include oversight of offices which manage USAIDfs worldwide Democracy, Transition Initiatives and Conflict Management and Mitigation programs. Mr. Rogers is a member of the Senior Executive Service.

Prior to this assignment, Mr. Rogers oversaw the offices responsible for Food for Peace, Private and Voluntary Cooperation, and American Schools and Hospitals abroad. He has had broad management responsibilities within the DCHA Bureau and served for extended periods as Acting Assistant Administrator.

Prior to coming to the DCHA Bureau, Mr. Rogers worked in the Agencyfs Operations Directorate, in the Asia/Near East Bureau and in the Bureau for Program and Policy Coordination.

Prior to joining USAID, Mr. Rogers was in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He also served in the Peace Corps in Eastern Nigeria.

Mr. Rogers holds a BA degree from the University of North Carolina in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Economics from American University.

Mr. Rogers is married with three children.
