Events in Memory of Former President Gerald Ford

President Bush has ordered that all federal offices will close as a mark of respect for Gerald R. Ford, the 38th President of the United States, on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007. The American Embassy and our Consulates will reopen for business on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Condolence Book Available for Signing

The Embassy of the United States of America will open a condolence book for Former President Gerald R. Ford in the Embassy for the public to sign, beginning Friday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m.

The book will remain open to the public as follows:

Friday, Dec. 29 10 a.m. to 12 noon
 
Tuesday, Jan. 2 Closed - Official day of mourning
Wednesday, Jan. 3 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursday, Jan. 4 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, Jan. 5 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

* Revised schedule including Jan. 2 official day of mourning.
