Ambassador Welcomes Future U.S. Leaders

Aug. 19 - On Aug. 16, Ambassador Roos discussed Japan and its global role with students in the Japan Travel Program for Future U.S. Leaders, organized by the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership (CGP) and the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs. Embassy officers also briefed the students, who are on a 10-day study tour, on the bilateral relationship and on career opportunities with the Foreign Service. Deputy Chief of Mission James Zumwalt who, along with Minister-Counselor for Public Affairs Phillip Hoffmann, welcomed the students at a CGP reception, encouraged them by relating his own experience in Japan as a student.
