Ambassador Roos Visits Nagasaki

Sept. 28 - From Sept. 26 to 27, Ambassador John V. Roos and his wife Susie Roos visited Nagasaki, where on Sept. 26 they met with Mayor Taue, visited the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, and laid a wreath at Nagasaki Peace Park. Ambassador Roos is the fourth U.S. Ambassador to lay a wreath at the Nagasaki Peace Park. Later that day, the Ambassador made remarks at the Nagasaki Japan America Society's reception celebrating its 40th anniversary. On Sept. 27, the Ambassador paid a courtesy call on Nagasaki Prefectural Governor Nakamura before returning to Tokyo.
