Assistant Secretary Campbell on Meetings in New York

Sept. 29 - Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kurt Campbell on Sept. 27 held a special briefing on meetings in New York City, commenting on Secretary Clinton's summit with Pacific Island leaders, bilateral meetings, and the first ever U.S.-ASEAN summit. He said, "The United States deeply appreciates and understands the strategic significance of what's playing out in the Asian-Pacific region, and we are attempting to step up our game, not simply in terms of strategic and political issues, but also in economic and other matters as well."
