Fulbright Alumnus wins 2010 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Oct. 8 - The U.S. Embassy is pleased to congratulate Dr. Eiichi Negishi on being awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, together with Dr. Richard F. Heck and Dr. Akira Suzuki. Dr. Negishi began his graduate studies in chemistry in the U.S. in 1960 as a Fulbright Scholar, and his Nobel Prize recognizes his distinguished contributions to organic chemistry. Dr. Negishi joins over 40 Fulbright Alumni, including three from Japan, as a Nobel laureate.
