U.S. and Japan Sign Open Skies Deal

Oct. 26 - On Oct. 25, Ambassador Roos and Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport & Tourism Mabuchi signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at establishing an Open Skies air transportation relationship between the United States and Japan. Open Skies will strengthen the strong bonds of trade and tourism between the United States and Japan, benefitting businesses and travelers from both countries by expanding air service and encouraging vigorous price competition by airlines, while preserving aviation safety and security.
