Nov. 26 - On Nov. 23 in Washington, the White House Press Secretary issued a statement strongly condemning North Korea's artillery attack against the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong, calling on North Korea to halt its belligerent action and to fully abide by the terms of the Armistice Agreement. The same day, President Obama met with his national security team to discuss the situation on the Korean Peninsula and called South Korean President Lee to assure him that the U.S. stands shoulder-to-shoulder with our close friend and ally, the Republic of Korea.
