USG Official's Alleged Statements on Okinawa - U.S. Embassy Statement

We are aware of the recent news report alleging controversial statements about Japan and Okinawa, attributed to a USG official, which obviously in no way reflect USG views. The U.S. Government has the deepest respect for Okinawa and its people. The United States and Okinawa enjoy a deep, long, and broad relationship.
