Obama Administration Releases "International Strategy for Cyberspace"

May 17 - The Obama Administration unveiled its "International Strategy for Cyberspace" on May 16. In the foreword to the International Strategy, President Obama stated that although this is not the first time the United States has addressed the challenges surrounding these technologies, it is the first time for the U.S. to lay out "an approach that unifies our engagement with international partners on the full range of cyber issues."

As Secretary of State Clinton noted in her remarks, this strategy is designed to promote an "open, interoperable, secure, and reliable information and communications infrastructure that supports international trade and commerce, strengthens international security, and fosters free expression and innovation."
