Public Contest to Name the New "ConnectUSA Friendship Ambassador"

June 6, 2013

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo has created a new character to be the "ConnectUSA Friendship Ambassador" and is pleased to announce a special campaign to name it. The character, modeled on a jelly bean, will appear on ConnectUSA's various social media platforms.

Until June 12, members of the public are invited to submit a name for the new character. Information about the naming contest, as well as general information about the ConnectUSA Friendship Ambassador, can be found on the ConnectUSA website and the ConnectUSA Facebook page. You can go directly to submission form here.

Before June 20, the Embassy will select three finalists from the list of suggested names and announce them on the ConnectUSA website and Facebook page. The public will then vote for the winning name. As a prize, the individual who submitted the winning name will be invited to attend the official naming ceremony at the Embassy, as well as the Fourth of July party at the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence.
