The TOMODACHI Initiative and Honda Motor Co., Ltd. are pleased to announce the "TOMODACHI Honda Cultural Exchange Program." The program will showcase Honda's unique way of supporting the education and development of future leaders of the Japan-U.S. relationship through an experiential learning program theme "Music as a Universal Language."

Guided by Honda's corporate slogan "The Power of Dreams," the three-year partnership will help forge friendships and deepen understanding between people in the U.S. and Japan while giving renewed hope to young people from the disaster-hit Tohoku, region of Japan.

Fully funded by Honda, this program will be implemented for a three-year period between 2014 and 2017. This year, the program is will send 15 Japanese high school students from the disaster-affected prefecture of Miyagi to Los Angeles, California for a two week exchange program from December 25 2014 to January 8, 2015.

In addition to homestays in the U.S. and other cultural experiences, the students from the TOMODACHI Initiative will participate in an iconic American New Year's tradition, the historic Rose Parade sponsored by American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
